It was a place to party in the heydays of the Dallas Cowboys. Stories of what happened there are featured in a Netflix docuseries.
It was a time of excess. When the Dallas Cowboys were building a dynasty in the early 90s, they had players like Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmett Smith. That had a defense stacked with players like Charles Haley. The team under head coach Jimmy Johnson at the time was known as America’s Team.
The Cowboys would go on to win back-to-back Super Bowls, 27 and 28 to be exact. The players were treated like movie stars with guest spots on late-night television and many national commercials. Even Cowboys owner Jerry Jones got in on the fun, doing commercials. All the success and money come with an ego that leads us to believe we can do anything we want.
Michael Irvin and the other players decided to rent a house close to Valley Ranch, where the Cowboys practice. They signed the lease, and the house served as an off-site, private venue for team members to go and relax. To get away from hotels, the fans, and everyday life. It was dubbed a “safe place for camaraderie.”
The house was a party house that served as a 24/7, player-run venue for drugs and women. It was known as “The White House,” and Michael Irvin was the self-proclaimed President. The house is two-story, and Michael features various rooms for different purposes. One room would be the game room, the other room would be a room for drugs like cocaine and other illegal substances; every room was known as the sex room.
Players would come by all the time after practice and party until the wee hours of the morning. One of the Cowboys’ employees was hired by Irvin to stock up at the house. One day, he walked in with a bag of groceries and saw Irvin and another teammate on the couch with two strippers. They both were having sex with the strippers and asked what he was doing there. He was stocking up in the kitchen. Irvin told him to get what he needed to get done and leave.
Irvin and the other players would also hire porn stars to stop by the house for entertainment. One notable porn star was Lisa Ann. She would often visit the house when she was in Dallas. It was also known that a major orgy took place in the house with Cowboys players and strippers.
How was it exposed? There were stories that broke in the Dallas media about the house when video surfaced of Irvin getting into a car and trying to buy cocaine for a party. That led to confrontations with owner Jerry Jones.
