The Texans’ Wild Season

The Houston Texans’ 2025 season has been crazy but also exciting. Going into Week 15, the Texans are 8–5 and 2nd in the AFC South. The Cardinals (3-10) are next up at home this Sunday.

One of the biggest reasons for their success is quarterback C.J. Stroud. He has thrown for over 2,100 yards and has 12 touchdowns this season. He had a massive game in the Week 5 game against the Ravens, 23-of-27 passing for 244 yards and four touchdowns. That got him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. But Stroud also suffered a concussion and missed a couple of games, which was kind of scary for Texans fans.

Even with that injury, the Texans’ offense still did good things. Woody Marks is their leading runner with over 550 rushing yards so far. And Nico Collins has been fantastic catching the ball, with almost 920 receiving yards. It’s pretty cool to see them make big plays like that, especially when the team needs points.

One of the most fun games this year was when the Texans beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-10. In that game, Stroud threw for 203 yards and a touchdown, and their defense got turnovers that helped them win.

Speaking of defense, Houston’s defense has been outstanding this season, one of the NFL’s best, and it’s a big reason they are winning games. Key players are Will Anderson Jr. and Jalen Pitre.

The Texans haven’t been perfect, starting the season 0–3. But the team is 8-2 since, having lost only to the Seahawks by eight and the Broncos by 3.

Today, the team is fighting for a playoff spot, only one game behind the Jaguars in the AFC South. Unfortunately, the two teams will not play for all the division marbles, having already split their season series. Still, the bottom line is this. If Houston keeps playing like this, especially with Stroud back and healthy, they could not only make the playoffs but also make a deep run.

A surprise team to many fans, the Texans are a fun team to watch.
