10-2 so far. That’s great! Who saw it coming? (Not many).
On offense, Denver has been piling up yards, 340.8 yards per game total offense (running + passing). Their rushing is working nicely; the team averages 119.3 rushing yards per game, and they’ve got 1,432 total rushing yards. Their passing game is solid, too. Bo Nix has thrown for 2,742 passing yards this year.
J. K. Dobbins has rushed for 772 yards this season. Courtland Sutton has hauled in 711 receiving yards. They’ve scored a bunch, too: the Broncos have 13 rushing touchdowns total this season.
I think this mix of good rushing and good passing makes them dangerous. When rushing works, they don’t rely only on big passes; they can grind games out, chew up the clock, and keep control. When passing works, they can blow plays open and score quickly. So far, they’ve shown they can do both.
Let’s look ahead. If they keep playing like this — say, they keep getting ~120 rushing yards per game and strong passing — I bet the team will end up with over 1,800–2,000 rushing yards total, and maybe over 3,500–4,000 yards for the season.
If the Broncos stay healthy, this might be one of their best seasons in a long time. Denver hasn’t won 12-13 games in a year since the 2012-15 seasons. At the very least, this is a fun team to watch!
