Eagles vs. Packers AKA “Monday Night Disappointment”

Monday Night Football, known for some of the greatest football games ever, did not live up to the hype in the Eagles vs. Packers matchup. This was by far one of the worst games I have seen all year.

When I tune in to watch an Eagles game, I know it’s going to be boring. But to my surprise, the Eagles actually had more big plays than the Packers. Analysts said all day that Jordan Love would be going off, but that didn’t happen–not in a 10-7 Eagles’ win.

10-7 tells you all you need to know about how bad the offensive units were in this game. Both defensive units were strong, but these teams are celebrated for their offensive productivity, with each boasting a top-level quarterback and running back.

The Packers travel to the Giants next week, and I predict a loss based on what we just saw, even though the Giants just fired their coach, Brian Daboll. Regardless of who is coaching, I am taking the Giants. Why? For one thing, the Packers have lost two in a row. For another thing, they have lost to and struggled against weaker teams.

Fans jumped on the bandwagon when the Packers opened the season with a win over the Lions. Since then, it has been a rocky road to say the least.

The Eagles, on the other hand, will remain flying, no matter who they play. It always seems to end up a close game, but more often than not, they end up on top. They grind it out, and it doesn’t matter who they play: they find ways to win.

That said, I also believe teams are getting better at defending them because Philadelphia isn’t doing anything differently. Unless they make adjustments, I don’t see this team winning the NFC Championship.
