After Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, it seemed like the dynasty and prosperity in Boston would end. But now, five years later, and after going through multiple quarterbacks, the Patriots have found new life.
Coming off a blowout win over the Browns last Sunday (32-13), the 6-2 New England Patriots lead the AFC East and are currently ranked second in the American Football Conference. They have already secured more wins than all of last season, and are a likely playoff team.

How did a team that was the NFL’s third-worst in ’24 do that?
Obviously, the team made significant changes, and perhaps the biggest was hiring Brad Vrabel as its new head coach and Josh McDaniels as the team’s offensive coordinator. Another improvement came at wide receiver, adding Stefon Diggs, an elite and veteran wide receiver, to the roster. Diggs gives Drake Maye a great offensive option. And a big reason Maye can go downfield is that he has time to throw, thanks to a strengthened offensive line with the addition of draft pick Will Campbell out of LSU. The Pats are better on defense, too, including the improved play of cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
This is not the same team that it was last year. From also-ran to threat, this team has a chance to make noise in the NFL. Who would have predicted that?
