The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets wasted no time improving their respective teams, engaging in a three-team trade that involved notable players and picks.

Here’s what each got in the recent trade.

Hawks Receive
Kristaps Porziņģis
Second-round pick

Nets Receive
Terance Mann
2025 first-round pick (No. 22 overall)

Celtics Receive
Georges Niang
Second-round pick

The big news is that Kristaps Porzingis, a mainstay in Boston’s 2024 championship squad, is leaving the Celtics. Porzingis’ health is a major issue since he only managed to play 42 games for the Celtics this season, even though he contributed significantly, averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. Still, the Celtics have shown they can win without him, boasting a 31-9 record when Porzingis wasn’t on the court.

Porzingis could take the starting center spot ifor the Hawks, as he would provide more flexibility and more scoring options than Onyeka Okongwu.

“Thanks for all the support and questions about my health,” Porzingis posted on social media this week. “I’ve been feeling excellent all offseason and look forward to a healthy and strong European championship tournament.” Porzingis will compete for Latvia at EuroBasket this summer.

A good sign for the Hawks that their newly-acquired player is showing signs of recovery. He intends to play for Latvia at EuroBasket this summer.
