UFC “Fight of the Night” honor goes to Brown vs. Sanchez. Honorable mention goes to Clay Guida for his incredible KO of Joe Lauzon.

On Veterans Day we thanked the men and women who have fought for this great nation, and UFC took its show to the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, VA.

Here’s how things turned out.

Pettis v. Poirier

In the main event, former Lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis (20-6 MMA, 7-5 UFC) took on Dustin Poirier (21-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC).

Poirier defeated Pettis by a tap-out. Poirier opened up the former champ in what became a bloody mess. An apparent rib injury caused the tap.

Brown v. Sanchez

In the co-main event, Welterweight Matt Brown (21-16 MMA, 14-10 UFC) fought Diego Sanchez (27-11 MMA, 16-11 UFC). In what was to be his final fight, Brown threw an elbow that was felt around the world. If this truly is the end of Brown’s career, he found the right way to go out. His two young sons joined him after the KO/TKO.
