KWINGS Beat Norfolk Twice To Close Out Pre-Season Play

NORFOLK, VA. (STS) – THE KALAMAZOO WINGS GOT THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE PRE-SEASON WITH A 3-1 VICTORY AGAINST THE NORFOLK ADMIRALS. GOALS WERE SCORED BY SCOTT HENEGAR, DAJON MINGO, AND JOSH PITT. GOALIE JOEL MARTIN GOT HIS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN THIS FRIDAY NIGHT CONTEST.

THE KWINGS LOOKED TO MAKE IT TWO IN A ROW ON SATURDAY AND THEY DID JUST THAT. LANE SCHEIDL OPENED UP THE SCORING FOR KALAMAZOO (HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON) WITH AN ASSIST BY JUSTIN TAYLOR AND NEWLY ACQUIRED AUSTIN WUTHRICH. TAYLOR AND WUTHRICH HOOKED UP AGAIN IN THE ASSIST DEPARTMENT, THIS TIME FEEDING BEN WILSON, AND THE KWINGS WENT UP 2-0.

IN PERIOD THREE KALAMAZOO GOT ANOTHER GOAL AT THE 11:42 MARK. TAYLOR SERVED UP ANOTHER ASSIST TO MICHAEL TREBISH (HIS FIRST OF THE SEASON) AND THE KWINGS SHOUTOUT ADMIRALS, 3-0.

GOALIE NIC RIOPEL PLAYED AN OUTSTANDING GAME, A PERFECT 20SV/20SH IN 59:50 MIN FOR THE WIN.

THE KWINGS WILL RESUME ACTION ON OCT. 21ST WHEN THEY HOST THE WHEELING NAILERS IN THE SEASON HOME OPENER. PUCK DROP TIME IS 7:00 PM.
