Joakim Noah: NBA’s Best Center

, ,

Recently, Joakim Noah has been a dominant force on the basketball court. He has been playing great, while carrying the workload for the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls, each night. Without a doubt, he has become the heart and soul of the Bulls.

Noah is the best Center in the league right now and no one is playing better than him on a nightly basis. In Chicago’s win against the New York Knicks, he had his second triple-double this season, with 13PTs, 14ASTs and 12REBs. He is currently playing MVP-type basketball (even if his has no chance of achieving that crown), covering every aspect of the game and making outstanding contributions. Noah has been known as an outstanding, physical defender, but with his upgraded offensive skill set, he is making his case for best man in the middle.

Whether it is jump shots, lay ups or rebound tip-ins, Noah has been doing it all; his recent performance is that of a true Center. All of the Bulls recent victories have been dictated by the start of Joakim; creating the energy that other teammates can feed off of. With Derrick Rose out for the remainder of the season, Noah’s veteran leadership is responsible for saving the Bulls’ season. That has proved to be one of the most important traits for great basketball players and Noah has proven to be one of the most unselfish leaders in today’s game.

His well rounded game makes him such a good player, but how he also makes others around him better has taken his play to the next level.  His 14ASTs against the Knicks were the most by a center since the 1985-1986 NBA season. Noah’s passing abilities have made Chicago’s offense better as a whole; the team has scored over 100PTs in four straight games. Chicago has found a grove and it all goes through the long-haired big man.

The Chicago Bulls are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, thanks to the leadership and performance of Noah. He has become the Peyton Manning of Chicago’s offense and the Ray Lewis of their defense. Critics and fans may vilify him, but without a doubt, Noah is the best Center in the league right now.
