Post-Christmas Sale Gifts: Aric Dickinson

, , ,

Though Christmas has passed, I thought its better late than never to give out some gifts to those in need.

The first gift I’d like to give is to Adrian Peterson. He deserves the MVP no question; not only has he came back from a gruesome knee injury in remarkable time, but he also has carried the Vikings to within one game of the playoffs with the worst passing offense in the NFL. Peterson probably won’t break Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record but to even come close is amazing considering how pass happy the NFL has become. It’s been a while since a non-QB won the MVP award but this year Peterson truly deserves it.

I’d like to give my fellow Orioles fans a gift this year, a cleanup hitter; and his name is Adam LaRoche. I know he isn’t Josh Hamilton or Billy Butler, but he has a good glove and can hit 25-30 homeruns and drive in 90 RBI’s. This offseason I wanted the O’s to acquire Butler for a couple of their young pitchers and apparently they had a deal with the Royals and balked on it.  All is not lost though, by adding LaRoche the O’s will Improve their defense at first and move Adam Jones out of the clean up role and into the three spot where he belongs. So with any luck the Nationals will let LaRoche walk and the Orioles will scoop him up.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
