REASON: In the Vikings’ last seven games, Peterson has rushed for more yards than what’s been thrown by Christian Ponder. In the loss to the Green Bay Packers, Peterson rushed for 210-yards and Ponder passed for 119-yards. Winning QB Aaron Rogers passed for 283-yards, which was only 73 more yards than what Peterson had rushing. Peterson also out-ran the entire Packers’ roster in that game with 210-yards compared to the Packers’ 152-yards!
COMPARISONS: Yes, Peyton Manning makes everyone around him better, but he also has more weapons at his disposal. Manning has the ball for the majority of the time in his offense. He also didn’t walk into a situation where talent was lacking for the Broncos. Unlike Manning, Adrian Peterson is a running back and has to get the ball from the QB; he has to wait until his number is called.
The Broncos’ offense also features Willis McGahee, who has rushed for 1000-yards in five of his ten seasons in the NFL, and Eric Decker, who has been a reliable and consistent receiver for Peyton. Then there’s the Broncos’ defense, which has ranked in the top-ten for the past five seasons.

The Vikings have seven wins this season, relying strictly on the legs of a guy who tore his ACL and MCL last December. This team has no top-ranked defense, no reliable receivers, a very inconsistent QB, and a clueless head coach. While every Vikings’ opponent views film that is geared towards shutting down the Vikings’ offense(Peterson), he still manages to average 120-yards per game. Peterson currently sits at 1600-yards, topping the entire league; if he’s not the MVP, then I don’t know who is.
