I’m Giving Thanks for My 3rd But I’m Not Talking About Servings

I grew up in Nebraska in the 80’s and then in the early 90’s I moved to “The Greatest City in America” or as some of you know it Baltimore. When I began to follow sports at a young age which felt like decades ago (and truthly it was… decades ago), I primarily followed football and  the Washington Redskins (my parents followed them).

So here is the list of things that I’m thankful for in sports today:

**  The Redskins are seemingly getting younger and not just buying the highest priced FA on the market. As much as people kill their management for decision and how they are usually “Off-Season Champs”, I couldn’t be happier with the overall direction the roster and team have gone in the last 2 years.

** Robert Griffin III, I don’t know if I need to elaborate to anyone on how much it means to have our franchise QB for years to come and what he has done with his very small sampling.

** In usual fashion, Mike Shanahan finding a great rookie RB in the 6th Round in Alfred Morris.

** Heading into their date with Dallas on Thanksgiving, it appears that the Redskins are going to have meaningful games in December for the first time since Joe Gibbs (Rd1 & Rd2).

I know this isn’t much but it is a reason to be thankful moving forward and for the future of sports for the Washington Redskins, and hopefully their will be more to say come Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
